All–Purpose Protest Poster
Commission for the korean GRAPHIC Magazine.
Format: Poster
Posters communicate with the public as a medium produced in mass volume and posted on walls. In the past, this method of communication was a strong format to convey messages. Nowadays, the function of posters has been reduced simply to announcing events. As a reaction to this, this issue of GRAPHIC aims to promote the social function of posters.
For this issue, GRAPHIC is commissioning about 30 graphic designers and artists to design a poster expressing a social agenda of his or her choice. GRAPHIC readers will be able to put the posters on their walls. When readers display the posters voluntarily, each poster can realise its communicative function.
We were interested in making a poster that could be used for all social issues. Are you against or for? Do you agree or disagree? Do you say yes or no?The user can decide for themselves which issue they’re addressing how big or small and which side up is right for them when they hang up the poster. This way we hope the user will think about what’s going on in the world and give an opinion about that.
